Welcome to our Surrey / Delta theraputic massage clinic..

At the Body Mechanics Massage Therapy, you can expect to be warmly greeted and given a few forms to fill out in order for us to assess your condition. Your Registered Massage Therapist will escort you to one of our spacious treatment rooms for a confidential discussion, and a range of motion tests for us to determine your main areas of pain and dysfunction.

After your interview and assessment, your Registered Massage Therapist will leave the treatment room while you undress to the level of your comfort. For most treatments, your Therapist will ask you to remove your shirt (bra), pants, and any jewelry. Massage Therapy is a hands-on form of treatment with the use of oil. Although your Registered Massage Therapist will ask you to remove your clothes, it is always up to you how much you remove.

Our Therapists are all professionals, and as such, are able to work with what works best for you. You have the right and responsibility to ask your Therapist for deeper or lighter treatment. For clarification, if you don't understand something your Registered Massage Therapist has said or done, you may at any time ask for them to stop. You are the boss, and you are in control of your body.

After your Massage Treatment, your Registered Massage Therapist will re-assess you, and give you home care stretches and exercises to further improve your condition.

Medical History & Assessment

Your initial visit will consist of a consultation of your medical history, as well as a thorough assessment (examination) of your current condition or injury.

These are vital steps in your treatment as your therapist uses this information to make an educated decision on the best approach to treatment for you. It is very important that you do not leave anything out, as things that may not seem immediately relevant could actually have great influence on the risks and benefits of the treatment chosen for you.

Remember, massage "therapy" is much more than just a massage, and it is in your best interest that your therapist gathers as much information as they need to provide you the most effective treatment possible. Our goal is to not only in helping to relieve your symptoms, but preventing them from recurring in the future as well (promoting good health, and saving you precious time and money in the long-term).

Treatment

It is the therapist’s goal to provide some hands-on treatment (manual therapy) at the first visit but please be prepared that this may not happen in rare situations.

During any hands-on portion of the treatment your therapist will check with you to make sure you are comfortable with both the environment and with the pressure being used.

You will be properly draped (covered) for privacy if any area of the body needs to be exposed for effective treatment.

It is common for your therapist to take a moderate approach at the first visit in order to determine response & reaction, and then to adjust the treatment as necessary in the following visits. Be sure to let your therapist know if anything feels uncomfortable or painful, or you simply have any questions about the treatment provided.

Prevention

Towards the end of your visit your therapist will take some time to discuss his/her findings and their recommendations. In addition to the examination and treatment, another important part of your care is patient educationand remedial exercise (self-care).

Providing the best massage treatment is something The Body Mechanics Massage Therapy prides itself on. The best massage treatment isn’t a slogan, it’s a promise. It’s a commitment to continue to uphold the service that you have rated as the industry’s best. We strive to be excellent at what we do and we believe everyone in Surrey / Delta should know where to go for the industry’s best massage treatment: The Body Mechanics Massage Therapy

You should undress to your desired level of comfort. About half of our clients prefer to be completely undressed, while the other half prefers to keep their undergarments on. This is completely up to you. You will undress and dress in the privacy of your massage room and will be securely covered by a blanket and a sheet during your massage session.

A session consists of massage, time for you to dress and undress and time to communicate with the therapist to make your massage truly customized. Each time you visit The Body Mechanics Massage Therapy clinic you will be assessed and asked about your progress. This is done to ensure each and every massage session you receive from us meets or exceeds your expectations.

Your BC Registered Massage Therapist has passed some of the highest standards in all of North America. All of our therapists must perform ongoing professional improvements in order to maintain their licence. Therapists at the Body Mechanics Massage Therapy are some of the best of the best with many being instructors at massage colleges in the province. All our Registered Massage Therapists are regulated by the BC health act, are members in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of BC and members of the Massage Therapists Association of BC.

For those who use massage therapy as preventative care or to manage daily stress, one massage a month is common. Weekly sessions may be desirable if you are receiving massage therapy for injury relief or to relieve chronic tightness that is interfering with your daily life. There are many people who incorporate massage therapy at least twice a month for optimal therapeutic relief.

If you should need to cancel, please allow 24 hours notice, so as we can give the appointment to someone else. It may be necessary to charge you the full fee for a missed appointment, barring "emergencies".
