MASSAGE THERAPIES

Pre-Natal Care

Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health.

Chronic Pain Care

When massage therapists release contracted muscles and reduce pain, they help restore capacity for normal movement. Anxiety and stress lessen as clients increase their level of activity and achieve more control in their daily functioning.

Neck, Shoulder, Back

Shoulder massage therapy is best for persons who have been sitting for long period of hours working on a desk or in front of a computer. Massage therapists can help when shoulder problems occur. More importantly, they can help prevent these kinds of problems from happening in the first place.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage utilizes a firm and yet gentle pressure on the back, neck, and shoulders. The massage therapist generally uses massage oil to facilitate making long, smooth strokes over the body. Swedish massage is the style that comes to mind when most people think about massage.

Sports Related Injuries

Sports massage emphasizes prevention and healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons. It is also good for people with injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion. The massage therapist generally concentrates on a specific problem area.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point muscle therapy can be a very effective method of decreasing pain and increasing mobility and flexibility. Trigger Point bodywork increases circulation, range of motion, and muscle tone. It reduces muscle spasms and prevents scar tissue from forming. The relaxation of muscles reduces chronic pain and the effects of stress.

Joint Mobilization

Due to various factors such as stress, age, bad posture, etc. joints can become fixated. Fixated joints can be painful, and they create tension in nearby muscles. Joint mobilization helps to release these compressed joints and relax the surrounding muscles.

Myofascial Release

This hands-on technique involves using deep, held pressure to the trigger points. The goal is to release the contraction of the trigger point. Many patients experience relief from pain during the first treatment. For others several treatments are needed before their pain starts to diminish.
